Malaysia Attracts Growing Attention as a Study Abroad Destination Amid Weak Yen and Stricter U.S. Student Visa Policies

The article reports that, due to the depreciation of the Japanese yen and the tightening of U.S. student visa requirements under the Trump administration, Malaysia is gaining attention as a new and realistic option for overseas education.

According to the latest survey by Japan’s Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT), Malaysia has ranked fifth among overseas destinations for students after high school, surpassing both the United Kingdom and Canada. Interest in Malaysia as a practical study abroad destination is increasing among high school students and their parents.

The article also introduces our on-site university campus tour, which was attended by 70 students and parents from across Japan, accompanied by photographs from the tour. Participant comments featured in the article include:
