We are pleased to announce that the Malaysia Study Abroad Support Center was featured in the front-page lead article of The Nikkei dated June 9, 2025, highlighting the growing popularity of studying abroad in Malaysia.

The article reports that Malaysia is attracting increasing attention as a university destination following the United States and Australia. Key factors cited include the ability to earn degrees in English, significantly lower total study abroad costs—including tuition and living expenses—at less than 40% of those in Western countries, as well as the availability of well-established university transfer programs.

The article also features photographs from the Malaysia University Campus Tour organized by our center in late March, introducing participant feedback and showcasing the career paths of Japanese students currently studying in Malaysia.

In addition, the coverage touches on the growing uncertainty surrounding study abroad in the United States, including visa restrictions for international students under the Trump administration, such as the suspension of visa issuance for foreign students at Harvard University.
