Article Title:
“God-Tier Cost Performance” Study Abroad in Malaysia: Highly Rated Like Top Japanese Universities, Yet a Challenging Reality Where Falling Below the Average Can Mean Dismissal

We are pleased to announce that a feature article was published on AERA.dot on February 28, 2025, highlighting both our organization and a student who successfully pursued study abroad in Malaysia through the Malaysia Study Abroad Support Center.

Under the theme of “Why cost-effective study abroad in Malaysia is gaining attention amid a weak yen and rising living costs,” the article provides an in-depth look at the realities and potential of studying in Malaysia. It features an interview with Mr. Takashi Saito, Representative of the Malaysia Study Abroad Support Center, along with firsthand accounts from Japanese students currently studying in Malaysia.

The article introduces the real-life study abroad experience of Mr. Toma Sahara, a student at Sunway University Business School, and explores the appeal of Malaysia as a truly practical study abroad option. Topics include a double degree program leading to a degree from Lancaster University (UK), monthly living costs of approximately ¥70,000, and the high academic standards of international education—covering cost, education quality, and career prospects in detail.

At the same time, the article does not shy away from the challenges of studying abroad in Malaysia, noting the reality that “entry may be easy, but graduation is difficult.” It portrays Malaysia as a country of opportunity for students who are genuinely committed to learning and personal growth.

We would like to take this opportunity to express our sincere gratitude to everyone who continues to support the activities of the Malaysia Study Abroad Support Center.
We hope you will continue to follow our various initiatives and efforts.
